Ida Leone, 100 Longtime Staten Islander Ida Leone, born May 25, 1917, in Manhattan to Vincent and Nancy Leone, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017. In the mid-1950s, Ida moved to Staten Island. She worked for Olivetti Typewriters for many years. She was a devout Catholic, attending St. Charles parish. Ida was predeceased by her parents and brother, Santo Leone. She took care of both parents until their deaths at 93 (Vincent) and 97 (Nancy). Having no children, Ida doted on her nephew, Vincent and his wife, Diane, and her niece, Nancy and her husband, James Mancino. She also is survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation is at the Colonial Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial is at Moravian Cemetery on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Anthony Cimo, 86, passed away on November 15, 2017 at Staten Island University Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Brooklyn, he moved to Staten Island over 40 years ago. He served in the United States Navy earning a National Defense Service Medal. He had a long-time career as a butcher in both NYC and Brooklyn. Anthony is survived by his wife, Barbara Cimo; his son Thomas Cimo, daughter Michelle Paterno and son-in-law Christopher Paterno; his grandsons Justin Paterno and Andrew Paterno. Anthony enjoyed fishing, gardening, and most importantly spending time with his family. Funeral at Colonial Funeral Home is Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 and Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00. Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church at 10:00am on Monday, November 20, 2017 with a burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
